Reflections of Something
thoughts on everything and nothing: a space for deeper reflection on faith, spiritual formation, and experiencing the Holy in everyday life.
Every one of us is a reflection of something.
Our lives mirror the world around us — the voices we listen to and the culture that shapes us. We also reflect where we come from — our heritage, families, and the people who have influenced us.
As much as we like to think of ourselves as independent, the truth is we are all connected. The imprint of our experiences and relationships extends beyond us, shaping the world in ways we often don’t realize. At the same time, those in our own circle of influence reflect something of us.
The trouble is, we rarely pause to consider what—or whose—image we are reflecting. When was the last time you truly looked at your own reflection? Not in a mirror, but at the deeper reflection of your soul?
Somewhere beneath the painful and ugly scars of life, we still bear the beautiful image of our Creator. We are called to reflect something deeper and truer than the fleeting and distorted images that bombard us daily.
That’s what Reflections of Something is all about. It’s an invitation to look beyond the surface and consider what our lives are truly reflecting. It’s a space to explore the nuances of faith, culture, and the spiritual journey—to ask deeper questions and wrestle with meaningful truths.

Who Am I
I’m Craig Sefa — pastor, teacher, author, spiritual director, retreat facilitator, musician, and amateur photographer/graphic designer. With a deep passion for spiritual formation and discipleship, I also serve as part of a clergy couple in the United Methodist Church and navigate life as the father of a pre-teen daughter, who has the unique honor (or perhaps the challenge!) of being a double Pastor’s Kid.
Through this Substack newsletter, I share reflections on faith, ministry, culture, and everyday life — inviting deeper thinking and inner transformation. My teaching, preaching, and writing all aim to echo the still small voice of the Holy Spirit in a noisy world.
